Miranda Sheehy is an emerging dance artist from Newcastle Upon Tyne, currently based in Scotland. Contemporary dance combined with physical theatre is at the core of her training, and she is driven by it's ability to engage audiences. Miranda is an energetic, passionate and expressive performer with a unique choreographic style and excellent work ethic. She is currently the graduate performer for Ruth Mills Dance, working towards Ruth's new dance theater work, "Girlfriend".
Miranda trained at the Scottish School of Contemporary Dance, gaining her BA (Hons) Dance Completion Award. Previously she studied at De Montfort University. Miranda is participating in intensive training at Henny Jurriëns Stichting in Amsterdam.
The plan is to broaden her level of understanding of dance as an art form by working with lots of different artists and discovering what they can offer each other. Miranda intends to travel to great lengths to experience dance as an expression of cultural uniqueness. There is excitement in the prospect of sharing the joys of dance with as many people as possible. Miranda seeks to develop her skills as an expressive artist through the medium or dance, theatre and choreography.
